Early this year I got to spend some time with a dear friend’s children in New York City. Dana and I had been friends, co-workers , and co-actors for several years in Los Angeles. Three years ago my husband, son and I moved back to New Jersey, while Dana and her family moved to Maine only 2 years ago. I had never gotten to meet her son Dashiell, so I was thrilled to hear they were taking a trip to New York to go to the theater. I immediately offered to babysit, and, of course, had to bring my camera with me. We went to our favorite playground in Central Park and had a fantastic time. Lyra and Dashiell were such a delight! What big, wonderful personalities they had! We had such a good time, and we when we walked into the restaurant where we were to meet Dana and Stephen, little Lyra breezed right in said we were here for dinner and that “oh, yes, this is my friend, Cory.” She took my hand and like a mini duchess led me to the table. I was so charmed that I am still smiling about it.
